Wie´s die Regel verlangt haben wir auch dieses Jahr wieder unsere Tage. Nur das wir dieses Jahr den deutschen Sprachraum im engeren Sinne verlassen werden. Nach vielen glücklichen Tagen in Österreich gehen wir nun das Wagnis SCHWEIZ ein. Unser Basislager wird sich vom 19.8.- 22.8. im wWalliser GRENGIOLS auf ca 800m ü. N.N. direkt an der Rhône befinden. Die Rhône bietet attraktives Wildwasser von WW2-5 und liegt direkt vor der Zelttür.

Des weiteren locken noch andere Bäche wie etwa Lonza oder Matter Visp.

Für die abendliche Unterhaltung wird sich die Eventcrew einiges einfallen lassen oder eben alte Ideen wieder ausgraben.
Also kommt in Massen, trinkt in Maßen und lasst Euch DAS Multikultipaddelereignis Europas nicht entgehen.
Es ist jeder willkommen der Freude am Bootfahrn hat und dies am liebsten in der Gruppe tut. Sei´s ein Langstreckencruiser, Frontsurffanatiker oder Suizidalstürzer.
Also kommen und genießen.

Verfechterdays 2010

dear international verfechters! we are proud to present you the 6th edition of our annual kayak festival. this year we gonna try out new rivers, of course glaciers’ water. we gonna meet from august 19th to 22nd at upper rhone in switzerland. the rhone, one of the major rivers of western europe, uses its first 50 km to take speed and flow breaking through beautiful gorges. our camp is located just at the end of the second gorge next to the village GRENGIOLS. the camp is called “camping aletsch”,

the spot is quite basic, just a meadow lined by some old trees, basic facilities. it’s at the banks of the rivers. so best place also for the “klemmer games”. that team event will be held near the camp. teams will use all their river and boating skills to run for the first prize.
there will be also film and photo shows, mostly on saturday. of course we will bring some music.
this year we will bring no barbecue facilities, so please make your own fire place.

the rivers in a range of 60 km have a great variety of all difficulties. there are nice sections for ww beginners on the upper part starting in oberwald. from there the river gets continuesly harder, up to class 4, before cutting into the gorges. the gorges are class 4-6. style of the river depends a lot on the temperatures, as usual in glacier rivers. after the camp, the river bed widens and offers some peasant low volume class 3-4+.
there are considerable side creeks like lonza, matter vispa and saaser vispa, mostly class 4 and harder.
